There are two categories of textbook requests: Mandatory Textbook and Optional Textbook.

Mandatory Textbook: a type of module textbook assigned by module leader/convener, either in print or electronic format, for which students will be charged whether they collect it or not. Library will purchase according to the estimated number of enrollment in a module provided by Registry. Each student enrolled in the module must buy a copy and pay for it.

Optional Textbook: a type of  module textbook assigned by module leader/convener, in print format only, on which students are free to make buying decisions. Library will purchase only a certain number of copies, and students shall fit into the rule of ‘first come, first serve’. It is not guaranteed that each student can have one copy in hand.
