Different disciplines have different requirements on referencing styles. For example, APA style is usually required in the social sciences disciplines, and ACM style is used for papers in the computer science fields.
In XJTLU, the most commonly used reference style is Harvard style. It is used by IBSS and many other subjects. You can find more information about different referencing styles and their matched disciplines in the XJTLU Referencing guide.
It is also a good idea to consult the person for whom you are writing, whether it is a tutor or an editor, as to which style of referencing they want you to use.
