For many of our e-resources, we may access articles published from a certain year. For example, for Science Direct, we may access to the recent 5-year journal full texts.  The archives (backfiles) of e-journals are sold separately and the Library has not subscribed to all backfiles.

If you need access to an article in Science Direct which was published over 5 years ago, you may use Duxiu Academic Search to get the full text.

  •  Find Duxiu Academic Search under ‘D’ in Database A-Z and go to the main interface;
  •  Click ‘Journals’ and then enter the title of the article you’ve found in Science Direct (or any other databases) but have no full-text access. Click ‘Foreign search’;

  • Find the article in the result list. Click ‘邮箱接收全文’ (receiving full text via email).

  • Fill in the request form with your email address and the verification code. The article will usually be sent to your email box within 1-2 working days.

If you are still not able to find the full text, please check our Inter-library Loan guide for further assistance.
