Both the e-textbooks and e-book collection in the library are books in digital format. But they differ.

E-book collection in the library are paid by the Library. They can be accessed by all XJTLU students and staff through publishers' platform. The titles are also cataloged into Library Catalogue (OPAC) and Discover system. Users can search for them, read online or download by chapters.

The e-textbooks are educational or instructional books in digital form. They are paid by students individually as their personal learning materials. Individuals will have an access code for each e-textbook which give them permission of access within a certain period (usually 6 month, based on the fees paid) on publishers' e-textbook platform. The titles are not included in library holdings, therefore not searchable in library systems.
