It is important to list the right affiliation when publishing your research, because the author's listed affiliation affects which institution can count the paper towards its research assessment metrics.

If you are to list XJTLU as your affiliation, make sure that you are using the official full name "Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University".

Throughout these years, some variations of the University’s affiliation name are found in researchers’ papers, such as "Xian Jiaotong-Liverpool University""XJTLU""Xi’an Jiatong-Liverpool University""Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University." If these kinds of inaccurate or incorrect names of XJTLU are provided in a research paper, then that paper is very likely not to be counted as XJTLU’s research output since not every bibliographic database could recognise these names.

There are also a few researchers who have correctly provided the full affiliation name of the University but put the wrong address (e.g, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Liverpool, Merseyside, England), and this is inadvisable either.
